Ed Vincent
CEO & Founder at festivalPass
- Web3
- Entrepreneur
- 📍Austin, TX
After an early career as an investment banker, Ed Vincent started his first eCommerce business in 1999 which was sold in 2001 during the first iteration of the internet. He went on to create a 70 person experiential agency that helped develop and operate large scale events. The agency owned a film festival in the Dominican Republic and creating branded hotels with Maxim magazine. This experience fermented his love and understanding of the magic that live events create.
Ed was personally asked to spend time as interim Chief Data Officer at MoviePass, which grew to 3.5 million subscribers, and at one point had the best movie goer dataset in the US. Here he learned a lot about what consumer business models work and which do not. This led him to study the transition of a successful subscription company ClassPass (sold to MindBody in 2021 for more than $1B) that moved from a traditional subscription business to a credit based currency that festivalPass is based on today. The expensive learning that MoviePass and ClassPass went through provided him and now festivalPass a clear path for success.
