Jen’s idea for Une Femme came from her selling tens of thousands of bottles of Champagne at The Riddler, She realized that there was not a modern, fresh Champagne brand for a savvy female customer. Of the massive 40B+ Champagne market, 100% of the top-10 brands are over 100 years old. None are owned by a woman, focused on women, transparent about their sourcing or sustainability, or particularly savvy in their online presence. The team at Une Femme is building that brand.
Une Femme Wines are made by women, in celebration of women, & in support of charitable organizations that make women’s lives better. The brand is named “Une Femme” because all it takes is one woman to shatter another glass ceiling. Une Femme believes in supporting other women, celebrating other women, creating with other women, learning from other women and doing business with other women. While there is still a lot of change needed in the wine world to reach gender parity, Une Femme believes that we have the power to make an impact by partnering with women throughout the supply chain, including the winemakers, designers and investors, and every bottle sold contributes to women-centered charities that help impact the lives of women.
The brand features only sparkling wines made in partnership with women winemakers in Champagne, Napa, and Sonoma. Every wine in the portfolio supports charitable organizations that improve the lives of women. The brand’s first three wines were “The Juliette,” a grower-producer Champagne made from hand-harvested, organically grown chardonnay and pinot noir grapes from premier cru and grand cru vineyards in Le Mesnil, Ambonnay & Bisseuil from Gonet-Médeville, “The Callie,” a crushable sparkling rosé from beloved Napa winemaker Samantha Sheehan, and "The Piquette," a juicy, light-bodied, low-ABV still red that comes from the second pressing of 100% organic pinot meunier from the beautiful van der Kamp vineyards of Sonoma Mountain. Most recently, Une Femme launched “The Betty,” a bright, versatile, refreshing sparkling California white. The grapes for this wine are thoughtfully sourced from sustainable vineyards across the Central Valley of California, and its 100% stainless steel fermentation provides a delightfully soft and delicate finish.
Whether toasting to a dream job, a first home, or progress towards a better world, Une Femme is raising a glass to women raising the bar.

As seen on
“Jen Pelka is the owner of the Riddler, a top-rated Champagne bar in San Francisco. This month, her second outpost opens in the West Village. The bar is notable for being entirely funded by women (it has 33 investors, all of them female) and for its insistence on serving Champagne in wineglasses, which, says Pelka, allows imbibers to experience all of the different aromatic notes.”
“Jen Pelka, an owner of the Riddler, now has a new wine brand, Une Femme, with a premier cru brut Champagne.”
“While there is still so much change needed in the wine world to reach gender parity, we believe that voting with your wallet matters.”
