Mark Pinsley
Lehigh County Controller and 2022 Senate Candidate
Mark Pinsley has worn many hats in his life, but he has always been the same person underneath.
A fifteen-year resident of Lehigh County, Mark is currently serving as Lehigh County Controller. Prior to his election in 2019, he served as a South Whitehall Township Commissioner.
Mark is also a successful small businessman, running his company, DermaMed Solutions, for nearly a decade. Before venturing out on his own, Mark was a global product manager for a $14 billion company.
These roles in the private sector were critical in helping Mark develop his skills to ensure money was spent wisely and effectively, which combined with his passion for public service to motivate him to run for office.

Mark earned a B.S.B.A in Finance from Northeastern University and joined the Army Reserves where, for the next six years, he served his country. He then went on to earn his MBA from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University.
Like many Americans, the results of the 2016 election led Mark to activism. Angered and frustrated as Donald Trump destroyed the country he loved, Mark devoted his time and talents to changing the corrupt systems that led to Trump’s toxic brand of politics. He co-founded Unite for America and was elected South Whitehall Township Commissioner.
In 2018, Mark ran for State Senate and came within 2,700 votes of unseating longtime incumbent Pat Browne, losing 51.42% to 48.58%. Based on his strong showing in that race, Mark was drafted to run for Lehigh County Controller in 2019, where he defeated the eight-year incumbent.
In 1997, Mark married his wife Nina, and they have been blessed with two amazing children.
Their daughter Jada attends West Virginia University, focusing on the arts and theatre. Although these activities have been limited by COVID-19, Mark and Nina are incredibly proud of their daughter and support her in everything she does.
Their son Grant attends Parkland High School, where his interests lie in the sciences and humanities, as well as helping his father out on the campaign trail.
Grant spent time with Mark knocking on doors and meeting voters. In between doors, he discusses his father’s interactions with voters while learning about policies that not only impact real people but will have an impact on his future.
One of Mark’s big challenges as a parent is making sure he stays connected with his kids. “Today everyone is busy. I’m busy. They’re busy. School, politics, business; everything seems to get in the way,” Mark says. “So we have to make time for each other; force ourselves to sit down and just talk during dinner or a movie. I’m truly grateful that we can hold that balance.”
And last, but certainly not least, the Pinsley family has a four-legged, furry member in the form of their dog Sparky.
