Before joining Flipp, Michael was Managing Director at High Tide, a full-service creative agency that builds brands for companies of all sizes. He scaled the business nearly 5x in one year, expanding the offering and team to ensure greater coverage to meet client needs.
Prior to taking over at High Tide, Michael was an early team member and COO of Raden - a direct-to-consumer smart luggage company focused on evolving the stagnant and dated luggage space. As COO, he ran all business operations, including finance, investor relations, production, eCommerce, logistics, marketing, brand, and customer experience.
Prior to his work at Raden, Michael was the co-founder and COO of Fancy, a place to discover and buy amazing things curated by a global community. As COO, he oversaw a team of up to 100 employees ranging in several operational disciplines, including accounting, finance and investor relations, business development, sales, product development, design, content and communications, public relations, wholesale, logistics and fulfillment, customer service, quality assurance and human resources. In his time at Fancy, Michael helped the company raise nearly $100 MM.
Before founding Fancy, Michael spent several years at Allen & Company as an investment banker, working on numerous mergers and acquisitions in the Technology, Media and Telecommunications sectors. Michael managed numerous M&A and venture capital transactions and worked closely with several top-tier clients, including Google, eBay, IAC, StubHub, BillMeLater, HomeAway, and Zynga. During his time at Allen & Company, Michael oversaw nearly $10 billion of M&A and venture capital transactions.
Michael has an AB from Harvard University in Biological Anthropology.
