Paul McCarthy is the founder and CEO of Snapfix.â
Paul’s background is in software development (for over 25 years), and in parallel, he has always been involved in managing commercial and residential buildings as part of a family business. He is also a fan of simplicity. Paul brought this experience together and built Snapfix to solve his own problem.
Five years ago, Paul got really frustrated with all the inefficient communication in relation to managing buildings, projects and teams. There were post-it notes, phone calls, voicemails, text messages, WhatsApps, emails etc. flying all over the place, and it was impossible to manage and keep track of everything. He wanted a simple photo-based solution, as simple as WhatsApp, that had the flexibility to manage everything.
Paul looked to the market for that simple solution, but everything he found was either too complex, too forms based, too inflexible, too time consuming, or too expensive. He spoke with many companies and realized that there were many people like him. Paul set out to build Snapfix as âthe simplestâ facilities and maintenance solution on the planet – with an obsessive focus on simplicity.

From Paul:
We designed Snapfix using Photos for Communication, and Traffic Lights for Collaboration. We identified the Traffic Light as âthe universal symbol of teamworkâ. And itâs super simple.
Many of our early customers were hotels, who were amazing - they demanded the highest quality, operated 24x7, and had a large audience of multilingual staff. All perfect for Snapfix.
A photo speaks a thousand words. A photo speaks every language. And everyone understands Traffic Lights. As an example, for maintenance you can use the Traffic Lights as follows:
Red - is a new task
Yellow - is a task in progress
Green - is done.
Snapfix is so simple that everyone can use it. Our customers call it the âWhatsApp for getting things doneâ. Now you can leverage the âeyes and earsâ of everyone in your buildingt to make it better, safer and more sustainable
We have been able to help all types of customers, such as office and apartment buildings, universities and schools, engineering and construction companies, factories, retail and field service companies. All our customers use Snapfix in their own way.
Snapfixâs mission is to organize the worldâs facilities, infrastructure and equipment, and âGet Things Doneâ.
We want to create a verb ! We want everyone with an issue or task to âSnapfix itâ!
Our vision is to help multilingual teams around the world to communicate and collaborate better, and make buildings the best they can be.
With Snapfix, you can turn every building into a smart building.
