
Paula Turicchi
Chief Strategy Officer at Parkland Community Health Plan
Paula has more than 30 years of experience in the healthcare industry. Previously, she served as the vice president of hospital operations and administrator of Women and Infant’s Specialty Health (WISH) at Parkland Health.
Paula oversaw operations for one of the largest maternity services in the United States, including the entire continuum of care – ambulatory, emergency, inpatient, and ongoing care for women and their infants. She served as chair of the Texas Women’s Health Advisory Committee from 2015-2017, working with providers throughout Texas to design, implement, and expand programs like Healthy Texas Women and Breast & Cervical Cancer Screening.

In her role, Paula strives to make a difference for patients and their families by developing processes, systems, partnerships, and new ventures that the strengthen the business of the organization.
She notes, "I have a passion for facilitating care for women and children and finding innovative ways to eliminate barriers to care, including financial, language, health literacy, and housing challenges."
Paula was instrumental in the design and construction of the new Parkland Health facility and the Moody Center for Breast Health, and she played a key role in completing the System Improvement Agreement (SIA) and Corporate Integrity Agreement (CIA) from 2013 to 2018.
"Joining PCHP allows me to expand the impact of my work to the members we serve throughout the Service Delivery Area and contribute to the growth of Parkland’s health plan as we launch new programs and lines of business," she says. In fact, Paula was able to use her expertise to lead recent launches exciting new services (meal delivery for pregnant moms, ride transportation to fresh markets) to PCHP membership to overcome health access barriers.
Paula was a 2018 Texas Hospital Association Leadership Fellow and has co-authored several journal articles in collaboration with UT Southwestern physicians. She is board certified in healthcare administration by the American College of Healthcare Executives and holds a Master of Healthcare Administration from Trinity University and a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Arkansas. Paula and her husband, Tom, a software architect, have two children, Alex and Mia, and have fostered nine golden retrievers.
